Father - a lawyer, Pierre Verne (1798-1871), leading its origin from a family of lawyers provenskih. Mother - Nanina Sophie-Henriette de la Allot Fuÿe (1801-1887), had Scottish roots. Jules Verne was the first child of five. After his birth brother Paul (1829) and three sisters - Anna (1836), Matilda (1839) and Marie (1842).
His wife's name was Jules Verne Honorine ((Gr.), "Sad") de Vian (nee Morel). She was a widow and had two children from his first marriage. May 20, 1856, Jules Verne went to Amiens to the wedding of his friend, where he first met Honorine. January 10, 1857 they got married and settled in Paris, where Verne lived for several years. Four years later, on 3 August 1861, Honorine gave birth to his son Michel (d. 1925), their only child. Jules Verne was not present at birth, since at that time traveled to Scandinavia.
